This article explains what congo dust is, how it is used & what it is made from.

What is Congo Dust?

Congo Dust is another term for Mpesu (see article about Mpesu here) that is said to be produced in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). It is hard to verify whether Congo Dust products actually come from the DRC as most of these products use the same main ingredient used in Venda Mpesu (the roots of the Violet Tree). It is also unlikely that sellers would profit from exporting, transporting & importing bulk ingredients for Congo Dust into South Africa

For the purpose of this article, we work under the assumption that Congo Dust is Mpesu.

Congo Dust is normally sold in powder form in small sachets (see image above).
